Homework benefits students by complementing classroom learning, fostering good study habits, and providing an opportunity for students to be responsible for their own learning.

Classroom teachers will set homework appropriate to each child’s skill level and age

Each set task must be purposeful, meaningful, and relevant to the current classroom curriculum
Early Years (Prep - Year 3)
Homework tasks are designed to be completed under parent supervision and will generally not exceed 15 minutes. Homework will consist of:
- Daily reading activities from a fluency folder to be completed with parents
- Systemic learning of sounds, words, spellings, and number facts
- Simple tasks associated with classroom activities
- Gathering of additional information or materials
Middle- Upper Primary (Years 4-6)
Homework will generally not exceed 30 minutes and may include the use of their laptop. Homework will consist of:
- Reading to and with parents or independent reading on a daily basis
- Gathering of additional information or materials
- Drill and practice - number facts and mathematical concepts
- Reading and response tasks
- Word study
- Research tasks
