The SMPS uniform was designed in 1990 when the St Mary’s Primary (girls’ school) and St Edmund’s Primary Schools amalgamated.
At the time there was much opposition to the amalgamation and in order to find common ground, the newly formed school chose to have distinctly different uniforms for the boys and the girls.
The girls’ uniform maintained the colours of the girls’ school and the boys maintained the colours of the boys’ school.
Branding our own identity as a school - St Mary’s Primary School, blending Christian Brothers and Mercy Sister Charism. Addressing unisex uniform options for students. Improving the quality and consistency of the uniforms and the standard of customer service.
From Monday 13 November we will offer opportunity to view and provide feedback on concepts provided by UMS.
